Brazil’s lower house to vote on Dilma Rousseff impeachment

epa05260691 Eduardo Cunha, President of Brazilian Chamber of Deputies, attends a session of the Chamber of Deputies in Brasilia, Brazil, 15 April 2016. The lower house is scheduled to vote 17 April on the impeachment resolution. Brazil’s Supreme Court dealt President Dilma Rousseff a major setback in her bid to remain in power by ruling early 15 April that an impeachment vote can take place this weekend in the lower house of Congress, where her opponents appear to have assembled the two-thirds majority needed to send the proceedings to the Senate.
